Joint funding opportunities for clinical academics
Prostate Cancer UK is committed to supporting innovative research of the highest scientific quality, by providing funding for researchers. To further this commitment we've partnered with a number of organisations to provide joint funding for early career clinical researchers.
MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowships
We’re partnered with the Medical Research Council to provide a Clinical Research Training Fellowship for Early Career Researchers in the field of prostate cancer, who wish to undertake a PhD or reacquire skills after time away from research.
NIHR awards
We’re partnering with NIHR to support clinical Early Career Researchers either preparing to start a PhD through the Doctoral Award or building on their PhD through the Postdoctoral Award.
Starter Grants for Clinical Lecturers
We’ve partnered with the Academy of Medical Sciences to provide starter funds for research-active Clinical Lecturers. The grant provides up to £40,000 of research funding over 1-2 years, to help strengthen bids for longer-term fellowships and funding.
PCUK - PCF 2026 Young Investigator Awards
We've partnered with Prostate Cancer Foundation on a special call to their Young Investigator scheme. The call will fund UK-based early-career clinician-scientists with a 3 year grant for up to $75K per year.
Joint CRUK awards
We've partnered with Cancer Research UK (CRUK) to fund two awards for early career clinical academics throughout their career.
We're helping to fund the Clinician Scientist Fellowship and Predoctoral bursaries. These schemes span clinicians who have just started their training to those that will complete it.
