Event volunteers
Event volunteers are vital to creating an unforgettable experience for those taking part in our events across the UK. From cheering on our runners, handing out medals to our walkers, or helping our cyclists refuel at rest stops, they help to amplify our impact.
In 2025 we attended seven events at cheer points, event villages, feed stations and even branded buses. We were joined by more than 50 wonderful volunteers at locations across the UK to celebrate over 5,000 of our supporters taking on a challenge for Prostate Cancer UK.
As an event volunteer, you have the power to transform someone’s event day. Your encouragement might raise spirits at a tough point on route, or your willingness to listen could make them feel truly valued.
You don't need any experience, just energy, enthusiasm and a big smile! As part of our event squad, you'll help build an atmosphere full of joy and encouragement and create memories that stay with you long after the event ends. Help make someone's day when you volunteer with us in 2026.
Volunteer at March for Men - Saturday 13 June 2026
Don't miss out on our flagship walking event, March for Men, in Battersea Park.
Your support will make the world of difference to thousands of our supporters coming together to walk for a better future for men and give them an event day experience they’ll never forget.
There are a variety of different roles available on the day with plenty of opportunities to lend a hand. You can:
- Help our walkers find their way to the event village as a way-finder
- Guide and encourage them during their march as a route volunteer
- Support walkers as they rest and refuel at one of our rest-stops
Visit our VolunteerHub to see the full list of opportunities and sign up. It's just three quick steps:
-
Create a Prostate Cancer UK account. Already got an account? Log in and select ‘Apply Now’.
-
When prompted, fill in your details on the sign up page and we’ll take care of the rest.
-
Look out for your confirmation email with all the info you need to get started.
Volunteer spotlight
Meet Cathie, a long‑time supporter and volunteer at Prostate Cancer UK. She’s joined our team in Newcastle and cheered at countless Great North Run events.
I really enjoyed the Great North Run once again. The organisation and communication were great, and I made some good contacts which will hopefully lead to more awareness and new supporters.
