Policy work in Northern Ireland
We are proud members of the Northern Ireland Cancer Charities Coalition which meets quarterly to discuss challenges faced by cancer patients and their loved ones in NI. Our staff are also part of four different subgroups within the NICCC: Prevention and Early Diagnosis; Treatments; Living with cancer; and Campaigns. We value the expertise of our NI colleagues and collaborate to amplify our work across the country.

We have been actively engaging with commissioners and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in Northern Ireland to advocate for the approval of Abiraterone for men with high-risk metastatic prostate cancer.
Our previous work
Ahead of the May 2022 elections for the Stormont Assembly we put together our manifesto for the changes we want to see in Northern Ireland for the men, and their families, who live with the realities of prostate cancer.
We fed into the Public Health Agency Corporate Plan 2025-2030.
Our team provided a full response to the Public Health Authority's consultation for their 2025-2030 Corporate Plan. We stressed the need to support men as part of their 'Living Well' and 'Ageing Well' priorities.
We are members of the Northern Ireland Cancer Coalition (NICCC), using a collective sector voice to influence Stormont and drive implementation of the Northern Ireland Cancer Strategy.
Through this work we're advocating for improved cancer outcomes, tackling waiting times, securing sustainable investment in cancer services, and improving access to treatments such as abiraterone for men with prostate cancer.
