To be eligible to apply you must:
- Be a research-active Clinical Lecturer (or equivalent eligible post for Veterinary Clinicians, who are encouraged to contact us to discuss their eligibility)
- Have a PhD or MD
- Hold a medical, dental or veterinary undergraduate degree
- Be within higher specialty training (GPs may apply post-CCT).
Additional support
In addition to providing funding, participants will benefit from additional support through the Academy, which includes:

- £2,500 to develop a stronger application, funding public and patient contributors' time and expenses.
- Scientific meetings for early-career researchers.
- Opportunities to participate in the Academy’s wider national and international policy work.
Public and patient involvement
At Prostate Cancer UK, we encourage applicants to actively involve patients and the public to help shape and deliver their research project from conception to the dissemination of results. The involvement of people affected by prostate cancer can lead to better quality applications and improved outcomes of research, thus resulting in applications that are more likely to receive funding. If you would like support to involve people affected by prostate cancer in your research, visit our Patient Representative Network webpage through the link below, complete the request form and we can put you in contact with members of our Network.
