For predoctoral clinical research training fellowships you must be at an appropriate point in your training to undertake a PhD and demonstrate how you’ll pursue your future research career. Funding for your salary is covered by the award and 100% of the justified project costs for up to 3 years.
Predoctoral clinical research training fellowship – UKRI
Postdoctoral clinical research training fellowships are available if you are looking to reacquire your research skills. You will hold a PhD and have been working outside of research for five or more years. Funding available: your salary and three-year project costs at 80% full economic cost (FEC) will be funded by the award.

The Medical Research Foundation is inviting applications from researchers to support people impacted by cancer, helping them to live well with and beyond treatment. Applications are expected to be between £300,000 and £500,000 over a maximum of a 3 to 5-year period and the call is open to all UK-based researchers, clinical academics and allied health professionals at eligible institutions. Stand Up To Cancer grants and awards fund cancer research projects that address critical problems in patient care and deliver near-term patient benefits through individual and collaborative teams of expert investigators.
This funding initiative offering awards from $1M to $4M for projects from 1-4 years in duration, will support collaborative, multidisciplinary, multi-institutional teams that combine complementary expertise, resources and infrastructure from the United States and UK research institutions.
Research should be translationally focused, at the pre-clinical stage or later, have a clear path to evaluation of an interception/preventive intervention, and a patient-centric approach, with the ultimate aim to develop new and impactful clinical interventions.
