Joint funding opportunities

Prostate Cancer UK is committed to supporting innovative research of the highest scientific quality, by providing funding for researchers. We’re partnering with a number of organisations to provide funding for clinical Early Career Researchers in the field of prostate cancer.

We’re partnering with the Medical Research Council to provide a Clinical Research Training Fellowship for Early Career Researchers in the field of prostate cancer, who wish to undertake a PhD or reacquire skills after time away from research. Predoctoral clinical research training fellowships you must be at an appropriate point in your training to undertake a PhD and demonstrate how you’ll pursue your future research career. Funding for your salary is covered by the award and 100% of the justified project costs for up to 3 years.

Predoctoral clinical research training fellowship – UKRI

Postdoctoral clinical research training fellowships are available if you are looking to reacquire your research skills. You will hold a PhD and have been working outside of research for five or more years. Funding for your salary and three-year project costs at 80% full economic cost (FEC) will be funded by the award.

The doctoral award is a three year award that supports clinicians to undertake a PhD and help them develop as future research leaders. Funding includes salary, training and development, community involvement, and laptop/computer costs.

The postdoctoral award is a valuable opportunity for clinical researchers with a PhD, or a submitted thesis under assessment, to strengthen their research career and progress at the next postdoctoral stage. Funding includes salary, research project costs, tailored academic and professional development, and an annual conference budget.
