Keeping Men Informed: Sharing Clinical Trial Results
Men who take part in clinical trials deserve to hear the study findings. Sharing results shows respect for their contribution, builds trust in research, and helps them feel valued.
To better understand men's experiences and preferences, we surveyed men who have taken part in research to learn what receiving study findings means to them, what information they would like shared, and how they would prefer results to be communicated.
Our New 10-Year Research Strategy: The Big Reveal
Join us at the Royal Society of Medicine on Tuesday 10 November for the launch of our new 10-year research strategy.
As the UK's largest funder of non-commercial prostate cancer research, we've invested more than £50 million in research over the past three years.
Now, we're setting out an ambitious vision for the next decade and the vital role research will play in stopping prostate cancer from causing so much harm.
This event is an opportunity to hear directly from the Prostate Cancer UK Research team, learn how the new strategy will shape the prostate cancer research landscape, and explore how we can work together to deliver meaningful impact for men.

Our Research Impact pages showcase how ideas we fund grow into real‑world advances — from early lab work to clinical trials that bring new diagnostics and treatments closer to helping men. Each month, we spotlight one of these stories.
This month's feature: Speeding up diagnosis with fast MRI scans
MRI scans have transformed how prostate cancer is diagnosed, helping men avoid unnecessary biopsies and improving the accuracy of diagnosis. Yet, growing demand means some men face long waits for the scans they need.
Discover how the PRIME trial, funded by Prostate Cancer UK, is helping tackle this challenge and could improve access to MRI scans for men across the UK.

The 4th Symposium on Treatment-Induced Neuroendocrine Prostate Cancer will take place in Milan from 18-19 November 2026. Registrations close on the 1 September 2026!
This free meeting will bring together leading researchers from Europe and North America to discuss the latest advances in neuroendocrine prostate cancer research.
Making Progress 2027: Share How You're Using AI in Research
Are you using AI in your research? We're looking for a prostate cancer researcher to share their experiences as part of the AI in Research session at Making Progress 2027.
Whether you've used AI for data analysis, coding, model development, literature reviews, lab-based research, or other aspects of your work, we'd love to hear from you.
You don't need to be an AI expert. We're interested in practical experiences, lessons learned, challenges encountered and tips that could help fellow researchers.
The contribution would involve a short 10-minute talk followed by a facilitated discussion with researchers and Prostate Cancer UK colleagues.

Annual Radiation Research Conference 2027 - Registration Open!
The Annual Radiation Research Conference 2027, organised by Cancer Research UK, will be held in London from 17 to 19 March 2027.
Bringing together a global, multidisciplinary community, the conference offers a valuable opportunity to learn about the latest advances in radiation research and foster collaborations that drive progress in the field.

Transformational Impact Awards
Our Transformational Impact Awards grant scheme supports larger-scale programmes of work covering high-quality discovery science through to translational and clinical research. Submission deadline: 22 September 2026 .
Research Innovation Awards
Our Research Innovation Awards grant scheme is open for Expressions of Interest. This call is for bold, innovative research projects that have the real potential to impact the way prostate cancer is diagnosed and treated. Submission deadline: 6 October 2026.
Prostate Cancer UK - CRUK Joint Awards
We’re partnering with Cancer Research UK to offer two opportunities for early career clinician scientists:
Predoctoral bursaries offer short term funding to allow clinicians to gain experience and skills in cancer research early in their career. Applications are open until 26 September 2026, with full details of the scheme available on the CRUK website.
Clinician Scientist Fellowship supports clinician scientists who have gained a higher research degree, have some postdoctoral experience and are ready to make the first step towards developing their own research niche. The scheme is now open and accepting applications until 1 October 2026. Find out more on the CRUK website.
A new look!
This summer, we moved to a new online application system called SmartSimple. You'll need to register on the new system and once we've approved your account you'll get a "Set Password" link - please don't worry if there's a bit of a delay in receiving the link, nothing's gone wrong, we just need to approve your account first.
Make sure you leave enough time to add your co-applicants and organisational approvers so their accounts can be approved well ahead of the submission deadline!

Each week we use our Prostate Cancer UK Researchers LinkedIn to highlight a newly published paper that was supported by our funding. Take a look below at some of last month's featured papers:
A team led by Dr Rafael Grochot, Professor Johann de Bono and Dr Alec Paschalis at The Institute of Cancer Research investigated whether targeting RORγ/RORγt could offer a promising new treatment approach for advanced prostate cancer.
In this paper, a team led by Dr Adriana Buskin at Newcastle University, one of our Career Acceleration Fellows, describe the development of a new laboratory model of prostate cancer.
In this paper, a team of researchers including Prostate Cancer UK-funded Professor Caroline Moore and Professor Prabhakar Rajan review the latest evidence for the use of non-surgical interventions to help keep men on active surveillance for longer.
An international research team, including Prostate Cancer UK-funded researchers Prof Jayne Tierney, Larysa Rydzewska and Dr Peter Godolphin based at UCL, have developed a new prognostic model that could help support more personalised treatment decisions for men with advanced hormone-sensitive prostate cancer.
