Tour de 4 2025

Prostate Cancer UK headed to Glasgow to support those taking part in Tour de 4, an event created by Sir Chris Hoy to show that it's possible to live well and lead a fulfilling life with a stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis. Among the participants, 650 cyclists took on the challenge for Prostate Cancer UK, proudly representing the charity throughout the event.

The Prostate Cancer UK team were delighted to be joined by several Scottish-based volunteers on the day, including members of our patient representative network, patient and public involvement representatives, and Prostate Cancer-UK funded researchers - all of whom played a key role in making the event a success. Genomics and prostate cancer – the latest in patient care

The Genomics and prostate cancer – the latest in patient care meeting will take place at The Royal Society of Medicine in London on Friday 12 December 2025. Registrations will close on 10 December.

This is a landmark multidisciplinary conference: a joint initiative of Prostate Cancer UK, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, the Institute of Cancer Research, and the Royal Society of Medicine.

This essential meeting brings together the country’s leading minds in urology, oncology, nursing, genetics, research, policy, and patient advocacy. With prostate cancer being the UK's most common cancer in men, your expertise is needed more than ever.

NIHR leadership webinars and e-learning modules

We would like to highlight the NIHR leadership webinars and e-learning modules, designed to enhance the leadership and management skills of health and care research professionals.

Covering a wide range of topics (for example, giving feedback, compassionate and inclusive leadership, and effective collaboration), they provide valuable support for both new and experienced leaders. Previous development webinars are also available to watch anytime on their YouTube channel.

We’re delighted that our 2023 and 2024 Career Acceleration Fellows will be chairing the sessions at From Ideas to Innovation.

We’re also excited to announce our Research Snapshot speakers! Across the two days, 30 fantastic researchers will present either a short, punchy overview of their project, highlight new findings, call for input from the community, or discuss a challenge!

Prostate Cancer Training and Update Day

The Prostate Cancer Training and Update Day will be held at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow on 6 February 2026.

This event offers a unique opportunity to learn from national and international experts about the latest advancements in prostate cancer diagnosis and management. Among the wide range of insightful sessions, attendees will hear from Prostate Cancer UK–funded researchers Professor Imran Ahmad, Dr Ashwin Sachdeva, and Professor Prabhakar Rajan.

CRUK Webinar: Refreshed Support for Clinical Academics

As research funders we recognise that clinically trained researchers are vital to making impactful developments in the fields of cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Cancer Research UK are making some changes to the career support schemes they offer for clinical academics, addressing some of the specific challenges they have in advancing both their research and clinical careers.

MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowships

This month, the MRC’s Clinical Research Training Fellowships opens for applications from healthcare professionals who wish to undertake a PhD or reacquire skills after time away from research. Visit the MRC’s website to find out more.

Cancer Research UK - Clinical Future Leaders Fellowship

Opening on 11 December, this fellowship aims to support clinician scientists transition to research independence and leadership in their field of cancer research. Read more about the scheme on the Cancer Research UK website.
