Policy work in Wales

We work in coalition with other charities to support efforts to improve cancer outcomes in Wales. Our team regularly meets with the Welsh Cancer Alliance to collaborate and improve the lives of men in Wales.

Current Campaigns in Wales

We developed a manifesto for the Senedd elections 2026 and beyond, setting out key priorities for the next Welsh Government.

We fed into appraisals that took place via the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group for Abiraterone. This included submitting written evidence to inform the March 2025 appraisal process, followed by our attendance at an appraisal meeting in early April where the treatment was formally assessed.

We submitted a detailed statement highlighting the real-world impact of mestastatic prostate cancer and the importance of equitable access to treatment options, particularly for men who are unsuitable for, or wish to avoid chemotherapy.

The appraisal was ratified and approved in May 2025, and then NICE approved it in November 2025 which superseded the approval in Wales.

We also feed into guidelines/strategies to improve urological cancer outcomes in Wales.

Through our membership of the Wales Cancer Alliance, we collaborate with partners to champion better cancer care and outcomes for patients across Wales.
