Remembering Gary Hooker
We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Gary Hooker, a wonderful supporter of the charity and the prostate cancer research community.
Many of you may remember Gary bravely sharing his story at last year’s ‘From Ideas to Innovation’ research conference. Faced with a prognosis of just 18 months to two years, Gary defied the odds, undergoing treatment and participating in a clinical trial for Enzalutamide, a treatment he stayed on for over ten years.
He supported us to raise funds and awareness, through campaigns, interviews and talks, and featured in our Spring Direct Marketing Appeal in 2022, which raised a remarkable £480,792.10!
We will remember Gary for his amazing contribution to the cause of prostate cancer awareness and research.
