24 Nov 2022Meet our new Chair - Doris Olulode
HR and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion expert Doris Olulode takes over from Charles Packshaw as Prostate Cancer UK Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Doris Olulode is Prostate Cancer UK’s new Chair. She brings a wealth of HR experience gained during her tenure at Ford Motor Company, most recently in her role as HR Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She’s a strong advocate for embedding equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of organisations, having led the African Ancestry Network at Ford and currently as the chair of the EDI Taskforce at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust
Doris has first-hand experience of the impact that prostate cancer can have on men and their families, saying, “I’m proud to join the Board of Trustees as Chair, and look forward to working to realise a future where we can save and improve the lives of men with prostate cancer. My own personal experience with the disease, which has affected members of my family, has shown me the importance of awareness raising, encouraging men to understand their risk and to look after their health. It is extremely important to recognise the value that support services like Prostate Cancer UK’s Specialist Nurses can provide during difficult times, and I am driven to ensure that the charity continues to support the people and families affected by the most common cancer in men.”

A massive thank you to Charles Packshaw
Charles Packshaw has been at the helm of the charity for over six years, and now hands the baton to Doris. Appointed in December 2016, Charles joined Prostate Cancer UK after a career of over 30 years in the City of London at businesses including HSBC and Lazard.
During his tenure, Charles has overseen huge investment into earlier diagnosis of prostate cancer. He’s seen the charity through unprecedented times, working with the Leadership Team to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and nationwide lockdowns, and presided over a period of unprecedented growth for the largest men’s health charity in the UK.
Charles has taken to the streets for challenges such as Ride London and March for Men, and personally raised thousands to support men and their families affected by prostate cancer. In the past year, he has also overseen the development of a new long-term strategic plan and the appointment of new CEO, Laura Kerby.
"As I ride, I will remember my dear friend Mel who died from prostate cancer last year." 💙

I wish the charity and Doris every success.”
