03 Dec 2021Meet our new Chief Executive
We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of Laura Kerby as our new Chief Executive.
Laura will join us as Chief Executive in February 2022 and will take up the baton from Angela Culhane, who is retiring this December after five successful years at the helm.
With a wealth of experience and a passion for health, Laura joins us from Myeloma UK, where she has been Chief Executive since April 2020. She’s previously also led the charity Penny Brohn UK for six years and before that, she sat on the executive board of Nuffield.
Laura was motivated to join us by her own father’s experience of prostate cancer, who was diagnosed four years ago.
Laura said: “I am thrilled to be joining Prostate Cancer UK and the superb opportunity to lead the charity towards an ambitious future. My father is one of the 400,000 men in the UK living with a prostate cancer diagnosis, and I am determined to ensure future lives are neither shortened nor limited by the disease."
“Every aspect of my career has been driven by health and wellbeing. I have worked strategically across the healthcare landscape in prevention, diagnostic, treatment and living well with disease. I passionately believe that working together, uniting the best science and clinical practice means that ultimately, we will be able to beat prostate cancer. It will be a privilege to bring my leadership experience and skills to help Prostate Cancer UK in this endeavour."

Laura lives in Stroud with her family and many rescue pets – including two dogs and three cats. She’s an avid walker and a staunch West Ham supporter (which she attributes to her East End family roots!).
While we wait for Laura to officially start on 28 February, Nicola Tallett, our Director of Fundraising and Supporter Engagement will step up to cover as Acting Chief Executive.
Charles Packshaw, Chairman of Prostate Cancer UK, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Laura as Prostate Cancer UK’s new Chief Executive. Laura’s extensive experience in both the charity world and the wider business world make her the ideal person to lead us forward as we work towards our vision of a future where lives are not limited by prostate cancer.”
“I also want to thank Angela Culhane for her outstanding work at Prostate Cancer UK over the last eight years. She leaves the charity in a fantastic position to build on the transformational change she has overseen during her time in the role.”
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the charity with Laura at the helm. Under her leadership and with your support, we’ll give men the future they deserve.
