It’s a no to full screening for prostate cancer. But we will not give up.

The National Screening Committee has rejected routine screening for the vast majority of men at high risk of prostate cancer. Instead, only certain men with variations in their BRCA genes will be invited for routine testing. It's not the news we were hoping for - and it's devastating for men and their loved ones across the UK.

Because there’s no getting away from it: no screening programme means the only way thousands of men will find out they have prostate cancer is by total chance. And for many of them, this news will come when it’s already too late.

So we’ve got to keep investing in research to get the critical evidence that will change the ‘no’ to a ‘yes’ for thousands more men – and prove that screening will be safe, accurate and effective for every man.
