Men United in Song
Peterborough Sings! has supported Prostate Cancer UK with their brilliant choir concept, Men United in Song, since 2016.
Amateur singers are invited to join an existing choir where, over ten weeks, they are sponsored to learn songs as a group. The choir then stages a performance in front of family and friends at the end of the ten weeks.
In 2024, four choirs joined the project. After ten weeks of rehearsals, they came together for a concert in Nottingham, raising over £90,000! The continued support of events like Men United in Song helps us to be there for men and their families when they need us most.
Inspired? Download the toolkit developed by Peterborough Sings! to run your own Men United in Song project. If you have any questions, or would like to chat through your ideas, get in touch with the community fundraising team.
Not part of a choir?
No problem! Get a group of friends together or people from your local community and sing. It’s a great way to socialise and meet new people.
There are loads of ways you can get involved through music:
- Karaoke night at your local pub
- Busking in a supermarket or local station
- Singing in your workplace or at school
- Get your old band back together for a reunion gig.
