West Midlands Awareness and Empowerment Fund

Now Open for Expressions of Interest

The West Midlands Awareness and Empowerment Fund is now open for Expressions of Interest.

This funding opportunity has been made possible through a partnership between Prostate Cancer UK and the West Midlands Cancer Alliance and aims to support community engagement activities across the West Midlands.

We're looking to fund organisations and services that are passionate about raising awareness of prostate cancer, particularly the 1 in 4 risks faced by Black men. We want to hear from groups with innovative ideas for starting these important conversations within communities, whilst increasing awareness of risk and signposting people to relevant support and breaking barriers between communities and healthcare services.

If your organisation or community group has an idea that could help us reach more Black men and improve awareness, we would love to hear from you.

Prostate Cancer UK's Black Health Equity National Network Community Grant Programme.

Black Health Equity National Network Community Grant Programme is a new national initiative that brings together trusted community organisations working with Black men and Black communities to tackle one of the UK's most significant health inequalities.

This funding is a unique opportunity to help raise awareness, encourage early conversations, and reach Black men in trusted community spaces. 

The Community Grant Programme has therefore been developed to empower community organisations to lead this work. By providing funding directly to grassroots groups, faith organisations, men's groups, and community-based charities, we hope to support innovative and culturally relevant approaches that increase awareness of prostate cancer risk, encourage earlier conversations, and ultimately help more Black men make informed decisions about their health. 

The grant allows for applications for up to £10,000, with successful projects expected to begin from October 2026.
