Active Surveillance online support group
Each month we host an online support group for men on active surveillance. If you’re on active surveillance and want to chat and share experiences with other men in a similar situation, then join the group.
To join the group, fill out the form below and we’ll send you a link to join the chat before each session.
The group will run on 2nd Tuesday of every month 7-8pm
Frank and Hugh will be facilitating the sessions. They’ll help to make sure you get the most out of each chat and that everyone is able to share their experiences and support each other.
A bit about Frank:
Frank had a PSA test in 2016 which was slightly raised. Subsequent tests showed gradually increasing levels and in 2019 he was referred to Urology for MRI and Biopsy. Frank was diagnosed with localised Prostate Cancer and went on Active Surveillance for 18 months. He joined the AS group and found it to be very friendly and informative.
Follow up investigations resulted in Frank being advised to consider treatment options and he underwent surgery in March 2021. As the previous host was moving on, Frank became the AS host in January 22 so that the group could continue providing support to other men on AS.
If group support isn’t for you and you’d prefer to speak to someone individually who understands what you're going through, you can contact our one-to-one support service. Our volunteers can share their experiences with you and answer questions you might have about treatment, side effects or other concerns you have about being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
