27 Dec 2024Game on! Paddy Power pledges another £180,000 bonus after second nine-darter at Ally Pally
Damon Heta landed a perfect nine-dart leg in his third round match at the Paddy Power World Darts Championship – the second nine-darter of this year’s tournament – triggering another massive bonus donation to boost our TRANSFORM trial.
Paddy Power will hand out another enormous £180,000 bonus after a moment of magic from Damon Heta on Day 10 at the World Darts Championship.
The Australian fired in the second nine-darter of the tournament in his third round match against Luke Woodhouse at Alexandra Palace, landing the perfect checkout during the second set.
And in a major boost for The BIGGER 180, that means Paddy Power will award a colossal six-figure bonus – including £60,000 to support our ground-breaking screening trial, TRANSFORM.
It comes after Christian Kist’s magical finish in the first round against Madars Razma, doubling our nine-darter prize pot to £120,000.
Both Kist and Heta will also scoop £60,000 for themselves – with the same winnings going to darts fans Kris and Mauro, who were chosen at random in the Ally Pally crowd.
Perfect checkouts boost The BIGGER 180 with massive bonuses
Laura Kerby, Chief Executive of Prostate Cancer UK, said: “We’ve been blown away at the brilliance from the world’s best darts players at Ally Pally, and a second nine-darter of the tournament made it a perfect end to 2024.
“After Christian Kist set the ball rolling, there have been a few near misses. But we were as excited as the 3,000 people inside the arena when Damon Heta etched his name into the history books – and helped raise another £60,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
“With every 180 hit by players in the tournament, Prostate Cancer UK earns £1,000 and this extra windfall, which stands at £120,000 to date, will also support our ground-breaking screening trial TRANSFORM.
“Led by world-leading experts, TRANSFORM will find the best way to screen men for the disease – so that one day all men will be invited for regular tests and more men will find it early enough to be cured."

We’re targeting £1 million to support lifesaving research
With The BIGGER 180, Paddy Power are leading the charge to save men’s lives and pledging £1,000 for every 180 at this year’s championship.
The grand total has already exceeded £500,000, with the two £60,000 nine-darter bonuses now added to the pot.
With one more week of action still to come, we’re targeting more than £1 million to support our TRANSFORM trial. The trial will find the best way to screen for prostate cancer and pave the way to a national screening programme, which could save thousands of lives every year.
Laura Kerby added: “This iconic tournament has seen us make a huge difference to men affected by prostate cancer, one maximum at a time. And the addition of two perfect legs can only help us more.
“We thank Paddy Power for their incredible life-changing support and both Damon and Christian for their fantastic feats. Long may the iconic call of ‘one hundred and eighty’ from the Ally Pally stage continue!”
