Peter said: "When I found out my Dad had prostate cancer I was mentally in shock. I couldn't take it in and, like many men, I knew nothing about it. I didn't know who to turn to so I called The Prostate Cancer Charity's helpline which was one of the best things I did. The nurses had the time to talk to me, and they really, really helped me and my family get through.
"Unfortunately my father passed away after a long battle with the disease, but as a result of this entire experience I felt compelled to include this issue in my writing. It is so important to raise awareness of this, the most common cancer in men, so that hopefully in the future fewer men like my father lose their life to the disease."
