Batman actor set to March for Men alongside a new ally

Hollywood actor Colin McFarlane, known for his roles in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, returns to March for Men on Sunday 2 June alongside a man whose life he changed last year – and you can join them.

Last summer, Colin, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2022, shared his story on talkSPORT radio, catching the attention of journalist Chris Davies.

Off the back of this interview, Chris, who wasn’t showing any symptoms, got himself checked out.

Chris was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and given just 10 years to live.

When I was told, I suggested to the doctor that would mean I probably wouldn’t see Millwall in the Premier League. The doctor told me he’d never had a response like that. I told him I’d never been diagnosed with cancer before!

Chris reflects on how pivotal Colin's words were...

"It's hard to imagine where I'd be now if I hadn’t listened to the radio that day. Colin spoke so persuasively, with such emotion and eloquence that it hit all the right spots with me. I remain forever grateful to him for pushing me over the line.”

Their remarkable journey demonstrates the impact and importance of awareness.

Chris will walk in March for Men 2024

Chris is now gearing up for March for Men 2024, proudly walking alongside Colin and hundreds of other people who have been touched by prostate cancer- and you can join them.

Take on March for Men on Sunday 2 June in London’s beautiful Battersea Park.

Excited to experience the electric atmosphere again, Colin captures the event perfectly by describing it as…

A special day that reminds you you're not alone. It's a unique opportunity to walk alongside hundreds of other people and fundraise while you’re at it. It’s also a chance to listen to and share stories and help save lives. It was such an uplifting day last year. I knew I had to do it again this summer

He continues....

“I’m lucky I caught my prostate cancer early, and it made me want to raise more awareness. Meeting Chris and hearing his own story was an incredibly emotional moment for me as he told me that hearing my words in an interview was the prompt he needed to get checked.

It inspires me to do more, knowing that your words really can save lives. It will be an honour to walk side by side with him – and the Prostate Cancer UK family – on June 2.”
