Allan's story
Allan’s prostate cancer journey began with a routine health check that revealed slowly rising PSA levels. Referred for further tests, he chose to join the PROMIS trial instead of undergoing an immediate biopsy. This decision likely saved his life. The standard biopsy showed nothing, but the advanced mpMRI and trans-perineal biopsy detected cancer. Allan was successfully treated with brachytherapy and is now cancer-free. Grateful for his involvement in the PROMIS trial, he takes pride in its impact on improving diagnosis and reducing unnecessary biopsies. Allan now supports his son Adrian in taking early preventative steps.

Not only did this research help me, its changed how people are diagnosed, so men in future - like my son Adrian - will get better tests too’.
