Everyone who takes part commits to raising a minimum of £300 to help fund lifesaving research into better treatments and tests to beat prostate cancer.

Raise £450, you’ll bag yourself a Prostate Cancer UK branded cap, perfect for wearing to your next match. If you smash that and hit £600, you’ll receive a limited-edition Prostate Cancer UK football shirt.

You can start your fundraising straight away. You will have 6 weeks after the event to finish collecting your fundraising.

There will be no on-the-day registration option for this event. Each walk has a limited capacity so you must sign up in advance of the day (plus we recommend getting some training in beforehand!).

Due to security checks at Wembley Stadium, arrival timings have been brought forward to allow for any delays. Please arrive at Wembley between 6.15am - 6.30am.

Transport from High Wycombe to Wembley Stadium can be tricky early on a Sunday morning, because of this we have secured a coach to transport people from Adams Park Stadium to Wembley Stadium which will leave Adams Park Stadium at 5am.

Places are limited and cost £20.00. Sign up here to reserve your place on the coach.

All coach reservations must be made in advance. There will be no option to buy a space in the morning.

Wembley Stadium can also be reached via bus, underground or train. Check out the Wembley Stadium website for more details.

No transport will be provided at the end of the event however High Wycombe railway is a short taxi ride from the stadium and has regular trains to London Marylebone and Wembley Stadium. We will be encouraging taxi sharing on the day.

Free parking is available at both Adams Park Stadium and Wembley Stadium’s Pink Car Park (vehicle registration required in advance)

Parking at Adams Park Stadium - Gates will be open in the morning from 4.30am - 5.45am and again in the evening until 9.30pm- no vehicle registration required.

We are working hard to ensure you have a brilliant experience before and during Jeff Stelling’s Football March. Keep your eyes peeled for announcements – you might see some familiar faces along the way…

Walking a marathon is a full day’s work. It will take roughly 10 hours from start to finish, including breaks for toilets, food and drink.

Unfortunately, this event covers mixed ground which isn’t suitable for wheelchair access.

For this challenge, you need to be able to spend a full day on your feet. We endeavour to ensure that everyone reaches the end and there will be plenty of opportunities to take a break and stay topped up on food and water. That said, walking 26.2 miles is no easy undertaking, so some long walks in the weeks building up to the event would certainly be advisable, especially if you don’t get regular exercise. This isn’t for everyone, but with the right preparation, it is an achievable challenge.

We’ve teamed up with Runningwithus, to give you expert information on how to train safely for a marathon walk. Check out their 6-week training plan and see where you're up to with your training.

You will receive a Football March t-shirt to wear on the day and be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks and water will also be available on route.

The registration fee also goes towards medical support and expert guidance on the walk from our tour operators, Charity Challenge.

Finally, you will of course receive a Football March medal on completion of Jeff Stelling’s Football March.

The event is set up to be completed as a group. While some people will drop off, the group will have a pace-setting staff member, leading directions and walking a steady speed. There will then be a sweeping staff member at the back, walking the minimal speed to ensure the group arrives at checkpoints around the right time. If you drop behind the sweeper, there will be a support vehicle to pick you up and take you to the next checkpoint.

We would love for you to set up a team. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Ask each member of your team to register for the event on our website
  2. During registration you will each be asked to set up a JustGiving Fundraising page
  3. Once you have all registered and have your JustGiving pages follow this guide on JustGiving to create and invite members to your team

There will be a short reception at the stadium which will include refreshments, speeches and a medal ceremony for all the walkers.

The health and safety of all our walkers, volunteers and staff is our top priority. We are monitoring and staying up to date with all government guidance and will keep all our event participants updated on our Covid-19 safety measures.

We’re sorry to hear you won’t be joining us for Jeff Stelling’s Football March. Please email [email protected] and our team will be happy to help.

Of course. If you can’t make the event, you can ‘sponsor’ Jeff by donating to the fundraising page or, if you are around and want to cheer the walkers on, feel free to meet at different checkpoints along the way.

All event photos will be uploaded onto our Flickr account following the event. We will send all event participants a link to this via email. Prostate Cancer UK and Charity Challenge may use without payment, notice or further consent any photographs, videos and other images in which you appear which are taken at an Event or Event-related occasion by our employees or suppliers or any participant or other person attending, in our brochure, website, social network marketing activities or any other relevant promotional material. Prostate Cancer UK will not, however, identify anyone by name without their agreement.

Should you prefer that Prostate Cancer UK do not use any such images in which you may appear which are taken at the Event or any Event-related occasion in any promotional materials or if you do not wish to be the subject of any photography, please notify by telephone on 0203 310 7034 or by emailing [email protected]

We are sorry to hear that you won’t be joining us this year. Why not organise your own Football March in your local area? Pick your favorite team and set a date to walk from or to the ground. Or choose to march from your team’s home ground to the rival club. For more information or to speak to the team please visit our Club-to-Club page

In the unlikely scenario that the event is cancelled by the organisers (including due to Covid- 19) we will offer you a full refund on your registration fee. However, all registration fees are non-refundable if you wish to cancel your place in the event.

If you have any questions about this event, please get in touch with our team [email protected] or call on 0203 310 7034.

This year we will not be stopping off at other clubs along the way (however Wembley and Wycombe Wanderers are both fantastic venues we hope you will enjoy) as they are not practical to get to on the proposed route.

The event is inspired by Prostate Cancer UK supporter, former BBC breakfast presenter and Wycombe Wanderers fan, Bill Turnbull who sadly died last August. As a keen Wycombe fan and regular match day co-commentator we wanted to combine Bill’s passion for football and his passion for raising the profile of prostate cancer. Jeff and Bill crossed paths early on in their respective careers and both went on to become legendary broadcasters in their own fields. Considering Jeff’s history of marathon marching for Prostate Cancer UK, he felt this event was a fantastic way to honour Bill and raise lifesaving funds to beat prostate cancer. Wembley as the home of England football and within a marathon walking distance was chosen as the starting location. While there are no other football clubs en route we will make the whole day a fantastic experience for everyone involved.

If you have any questions about this event please get in touch with our team [email protected] or call on 020 3310 7034.
