What is the Clinical Champions Programme?

Our free 18-month long programme aims to identify future clinical leaders and provide them with the knowledge, skills and support to deliver significant improvements to prostate cancer care.

Who is the programme for?

We know all roles across the prostate cancer pathway are critical to transforming care, that’s why we actively recruit a multi-disciplinary group to this programme. The programme is open to passionate and inspiring professionals who are driven to improve prostate cancer care.

All applicants will be required to complete an application form and if shortlisted will then be required to attend a virtual interview.

What does the programme involve?

We’ve partnered with Living Potential, an innovative leadership development organisation to support us deliver our sector-leading Clinical Champions Programme. Our programme will support and inspire you to drive meaningful improvements for people living with or at risk of prostate cancer.

As part of the programme you will receive:

  • Training on change leadership, system leadership, improvement science and implementing an improvement project.
  • Virtual improvement group meetings that allow time to connect with peers.
  • Individual support around your improvement ambitions and leadership development.
  • Opportunities to meet and network with inspiring leaders.
  • Networking, sharing insights and learning from fellow peers on the programme.
  • Support from Prostate Cancer UK during and beyond the programme.

Your accommodation at the residential sessions, along with refreshments are provided at the expense of the charity, however we do not cover transport expenses.

You will not pay a fee to attend our programmes or submit an application.

Being the only nurse on the cohort was a daunting thought but going ahead was the best thing I’ve done. The programme has been an enlightening experience in terms of recognising your value and what leadership skills you already have and reflecting on and developing those.
