Dr Nicholas Hicks

Nick is currently an Associate Fellow at Green Templeton College, University of Oxford where he is Director of the College's Health System Development and Management in Medicine Programmes.  He is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow in Department of Primary Health Care Sciences, University of Oxford.  He is currently seconded to the Department of Health’s System Strategy Unit as a Senior Strategy Advisor to support the development of the 10 Year Health Plan.

Nick’s career has included time as a practising GP, a hospital doctor, a Primary Care Trust chief executive, a Director of Public Health, a public health consultant, a policy advisor to government and a health services researcher. He has had several attachments in the Department of Health including in its strategy unit where he worked closely with the Secretary of State and other Ministers.
