Social media guidelines
We use social media to raise awareness of prostate cancer, a disease affecting 1 in 8 men in the UK, to support men, and their loved ones, going through a diagnosis and to drive fundraising for crucial research that could help us beat the disease.
It’s one of the most effective tools we have to engage with you, our supporters, and share your incredible stories and fundraising efforts. It’s a place for us to share the achievements of researchers across the country - work that wouldn’t be possible without your support.
It’s important that our social media is a safe and welcoming space for all supporters. To ensure this is the case, we have five key principles we ask everyone to follow:
- Be kind and courteous and do not personally attack others
- Stay on topic and don’t post spam or adverts for products or services
- No hate speech, discrimination or bullying of any kind
- Respect everyone’s privacy and do not share the personal details of others
- Remember what we’re here for: to support those affected by prostate cancer and raise awareness and funds to beat this disease
We moderate comments and filter out any content that does not follow these guidelines. If a user continues to share unacceptable posts or comments, we will block them from engaging with our content in the future, to ensure our social media remains a safe and welcoming space.
We have a team moderating our social media accounts from Monday to Friday, with some cover at weekends and on bank holidays. We try to ensure all issues are handled in a timely manner.
Our Direct Messages are open across all our social media channels should you wish to raise an issue, or ask us a question, privately. Or alternatively, please get in touch with our Customer Experience team on [email protected] to raise issues or share any feedback you have.
