A healthy diet along with exercise can help you stay a healthy weight. Being a healthy weight may help reduce the pressure on your bladder, which can help if you leak urine.

Keeping a healthy weight and being physically active may help if you leak urine. Physical activity can help you to stay a healthy weight, which can reduce the pressure of your bladder and pelvic floor muscles.

Regular pelvic floor muscle exercises can help strengthen the muscles that control when you urinate.

Smoking can cause coughing, which puts pressure on your bladder and pelvic floor muscles. Get help to stop smoking.

Try to drink about 1.5-2 litres or 3-4 pints a day. This will help to keep your bladder healthy and prevent problems like urine infections and radiation cystitis.

Fizzy drinks, alcohol and caffeinated drink can irritate the bladder. Avoiding these may help to prevent you leaking urine and help prevent radiation cystitis.
