Speaking about it publicly for the first time, Jools Holland was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014, following a routine blood test (PSA). Now, he’s on a mission to make sure men understand more about their risks of prostate cancer. That’s why he’s heading up Raise the Roof and collaborating with Prostate Cancer UK to stop lives being rocked by this disease.

He said “Thankfully I was successfully treated, but if more people were aware of their risk and caught the disease early, then more lives would be saved. If Raise the Roof was able to achieve this and save one man’s life it would be the best thing ever that would come out of this.”

We’re delighted that Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra will be joined by hosts Jim Moir and AJ Odudu with musical performers' Celeste, Melanie C, Paloma Faith, Paul Weller, Ruby Turner and Van Morrison. Stand-up comedy will come from Gina Yashere, Omid Djalili, Shaparak Khorsandi and Stephen K Amos. Further special guest appearances are expected to be announced in the coming months so keep an eye out for updates.

As Raise the Roof is a live event, the line-up is always subject to last minute changes that may be out of our control. We hope all our artists and comedians will be able to perform on the night, along with more we’ll be announcing in the coming months.
