Active surveillance for low risk prostate cancer: how to maximise safety and minimise the burden on the NHS
Speaker: Ben Challacombe, Consultant Urological Surgeon & Honorary Senior Lecturer, Guy's Hospital and King's College London.
With large numbers of men being diagnosed with low risk prostate cancer active surveillance has become an increasingly attractive option. In this webinar Ben Challacombe will explore the current best practice for active surveillance, discussing the role of imaging with MRI, type of entry and subsequent biopsy, and follow up protocols. Triggers for coming off active surveillance are also discussed and how to minimise the follow up burden of this increasingly large group of patients whilst providing maximum security.
