Samia has a long-term involvement in the voluntary sector, particularly health and social care. In 1994 she joined Breast Cancer Care as Chief Executive, leaving after 25 years in 2019.  During this period she led the organisation through a period of considerable growth and development, integrating the work of Breast Cancer Care with the NHS and developing new models of care for people with cancer. Her commitment to combining high quality services whilst influencing for change is rooted in a passion for user involvement and consultation. Samia is also interested in how leaders can help develop organisations which are a pleasure to work in.

Previously Samia worked in the HIV sector managing a range of direct services.  Her interests include issues relating to people’s rights to health care treatment and information. She is also interested in improvements to management practice, diversity and inclusion, social responsibility, working with volunteers and creating a healthy working environment. Currently she is working as a leadership consultant with a variety of charities.

Samia joined Prostate Cancer UK as a Trustee in July 2020 and chairs our Support & Influencing Committee.
