Wembley here we come! Alistair Campbell, Russ Green and a scrum of national press join the Sky Sports presenter on the first leg of our epic fundraising walk from Hartlepool to London.

Jeff Stelling Men United March Day 1 Start
21 Mar 2016

"Let's get going!" was Jeff Stelling's rallying cry as he set out from Hartlepool United's football ground at 8am this morning, leading an army of supporters, celebrities and national press on the first day of our Men United March.

Today will see the legendary Sky Sports presenter tackle the first of 10 marathon-length walks over the next 10 days to raise money for us, with the total marching past £150k last night before a step had even been taken.

The Hartlepool United CEO, Russ Green, and former government spin doctor Alistair Campbell are walking alongside Jeff from his boyhood club to Marske, calling in at Middlesborough Football Club's Riverside ground en route.

But Jeff is also joined by passionate supporters of Prostate Cancer UK, all raising their own funds for a cause that's close to their hearts. Chris Soley, CEO of the local Cameron's brewery, is walking with his father-in-law who was recently diagnosed with the disease. And long-time supporters Danny and Tracey, who have sold more than 5,000 Men United pin badges since Danny's recent diagnosis, are also walking the first leg of the March.

“Jeff's changing what people think and know about prostate cancer," says Tracey. "He’s saving lives. And he’s changed our lives.”

Another of today's marchers, Peter Dawson, is due to undergo radiotherapy next week but was determined to still do the walk. "I'll crawl if I have to," he said on Facebook. "Good luck everyone on whatever day you are walking: let's raise lots of money to beat this horrible disease."

You can keep track of Jeff's progress live on our GPS map or our TwitterFacebook and Instagram feeds. We'll also be posting daily roundups on our website at the end of each day with behind the scenes footage of Jeff, his video diary, and more inspiring stories from men with prostate cancer on the March.

Next stop Marske!
