There have been lots of defining moments along the way for Men United - the movement, the team and the force taking action on men’s health. But one that stands out for us is our partnership with Millwall FC. So it was fitting our celebrations for Men United v Prostate Cancer were at The Den.
Celebrations were in order for the achievements of our team and the key players who made up Men United. We took to the terraces, where much of our Bill Bailey ad was filmed.
Our numbers included Brian, a dedicated Millwall fan, and his wife Loretta, who have faced Brian's prostate cancer with immense bravery, and the 'gaffers' of the club, who talked about why they have really taken Men United, and us, to their hearts. Also in attendance were some of our key supporters - Royal Mail, Two Fingers Brewing, The Good Agency, Movember, Rileys, Deloitte and Manning Gottlieb. The night was complete with an exchange of shirts as Andy Ambler received his Men United shirt while Ian Holloway presented Owen Sharp with this brilliant number.
It was a real example of what this campaign is all about - solidarity in numbers to touch individual lives. The campaign wouldn’t have been such an incredible success without the support of Millwall Football Club. We certainly have a lot to thank them for. As Brian said ‘Well done Millwall for standing up and being counted by supporting Prostate Cancer UK’.
Men United v Prostate Cancer has been successful in terms of reaching 'blokes', but also spurring the team into action. But let's not stop here. Let’s keep the momentum going.
