A group of Chesterfield medics got in the saddle for an epic cycling challenge on Sunday in support of The Prostate Cancer Charity.

Hundreds of cyclists got in the saddle for the cycling challenge of a lifetime by completing the last of The Prostate Cancer Charity's Tour Rides for 2011 in Stoke-on-Trent on Sunday, raising thousands of pounds in doing so.

A host of stars from the worlds of screen, music, business and sport saddled up in central London today to warn the tracks for the Pro cyclists ahead of the final stage of the Tour of Britain today (18 September).

Channel 4 newsreader, Jon Snow, is urging people across the Capital to get on their bikes in support of The Prostate Cancer Charity's Tour Ride in central London.

City workers Paul Meyers, 43, from Loughton, David Shaw, 43, from Bexleyheath, Justine Smeal, 35, from London, and Lee Woodyard, 24 from Dartford, can usually be found at global asset management firm BlackRock, in Throgmorton Avenue in the heart of the city. But they will be switching calculators for carbon fibre and their suits will be replaced by full Lycra, when they jet off to the US later this week. The quad will cycle 3,200 miles from the firm's San Francisco office to their New York base in just 13 days, to raise money for The Prostate Cancer Charity.

Premiership rugby players including Ugo Monye, Danny Care and Tim Payne are backing a new campaign to raise awareness of prostate cancer this season.

Wednesday 27 to Sunday 31 July saw over 1,000 players and 10,000 spectators descend on Ayr for The Prostate Cancer Charity Bowls Scotland Championships 2011.
