Advanced prostate cancer is cancer that has spread from the
prostate to other parts of the body. It is also called 'metastatic'
prostate cancer.
It is not possible to cure advanced prostate cancer, but you
will be offered hormone therapy, which can often keep your cancer
under control for several years.

Advanced prostate cancer can cause symptoms. These can include
bone pain or problems passing urine. There are treatments available
to manage these symptoms. Not all men diagnosed with advanced
prostate cancer will have symptoms. Let your doctor or nurse know
if any symptoms, for example bone pain or urinary problems, get
worse, or if you develop any new symptoms.
Ask your doctor or nurse if you have any questions about
treatments. Or, you can call our Specialist Nurses.
