Once you know what you’re doing and when you’re doing it, it’s time to start spreading the word and get people signed up to your walk.

Download our posters

We have several fantastic poster designs on our website which you can download and use for free.

Simply fill in the details of your walk including when and where it is, the length and finish points, then put up posters where people will see them. Good places are local community notice boards, at clubs, in pubs and at workplaces.

Share your walk via social media and email

You could create a Facebook event or group for your walk, or simply share information about the event on all your social media accounts.

It’s also a good idea to send an email to all your colleagues, contacts, friends and family asking them to sign up or sponsor you. Encourage them to share your page with their friends too.

Remember to include information about how people can sign up!

Send regular reminders

Keep your contacts updated with your plans and remind them that there’s still time to join you on your walk.

Combine these updates with a link to your fundraising page and a reminder to make a donation. You can even give updates on how close you are to your total and offer a prize to the person whose donation takes you over a certain amount!

Write a press release

Fill in our template press release and use this to contact your local newspapers, radio stations and other media outlets. The more people who hear about your walk the more support you’re likely to get.
