When we said football’s biggest ride just got bigger we meant it! We’re not talking a few more riders, we're talking a whole new route before you meet up with the London leg in Amsterdam to share your stories from the ride.
Day 1: Friday 3 June 2016
Barnsley FC to Hull - 73miles / 117kms
We’re kicking off the Yorkshire leg at the Oakwell Stadium, home of the Barnsley FC. After meeting the team and a full briefing we’re soon out of the city and on our way. Following the Dearne Valley it’s a challenging ride with a few hills to get you heart pumping, before we cross the Humber Bridge and the finish line in Hull. It’s straight into the locker room for a shower and a post match debrief with your team mates.
After a tough day in the saddle it’s time to board the ferry for a well earned dinner before getting ready to take your team into Europe.
Day 2: Saturday 4 June
Rotterdam to the Ajax ArenA, Amsterdam - 71miles / 114kms
If you pushed it a bit hard on Day 1 don’t worry, it’s flat, very flat! So don’t worry about being left behind, enjoy the day riding with your team mates. We cross the estuary and then head north along the coast though the Dutch countryside. We’ll then head into Amsterdam for the official finish outside the famous Amsterdam ArenA, home of Ajax FC. Then it’s a quick shower and down to the bar for our celebration meal and then a night on the town!
Day 3: Sunday 5 June
Amsterdam to Barnsley
It’s an early start as we board the team bus after breakfast to take us to the airport where we fly to the UK. There we’ll board the team bus again to Barnsley where you’ll will be reunited with you bike.
