Remember a Charity in your Will Week 12-18 September 2016: help us stop prostate cancer being a killer

What is Remember A Charity Week?

Prostate Cancer UK is a proud member of Remember A Charity, a consortium of over 140 charities who have come together to encourage more people to consider leaving a gift to charity in their Will.

Remember A Charity in your Will Week is an annual campaign in September dedicated to promoting awareness of leaving a gift to charity in your Will. This year's campaign takes place from 12-18 September, and we're excited to be a part of it as legacies are a crucial part of funding our vital work.

This year’s theme, ‘Words of Wisdom’, is about celebrating legendary advice and get more people thinking about what their lasting memory will be.

'Surprise yourself - you can do more than you think'.

What do we want you to do during Remember A Charity Week?

This year we're busy encouraging everyone to get talking about words of wisdom and legacies, so it's the perfect time to start having your own legacy conversations. It can be big or small, just take the chance to talk to someone about what a Will means to you and who you would like to remember.

We're raising awareness about why having a Will is so important, so we want you to request one of our free Will-Writing guides. It's packed with lots of information on why we all need a Will and how legacy gifts are so vital to our work.

Why are gifts in Wills so important to Prostate Cancer UK?

Last year we received over £2 million from legendary supporters who chose to remember our work with a gift in their Will. This amazing way of supporting our work allows us to continue to support men and their families affected by prostate cancer, find answers through pioneering research and lead change to improve awareness and care.

Take a look at our exclusive video of renowned chef Ken Hom where he talks frankly about his prostate cancer diagnosis and why he has chosen to leave us a gift in his Will.
