"It was a fitting tribute to Richard, he helped champion the fight against prostate cancer throughout his lifetime"

In 2011, Prostate Cancer UK trustee Professor Roger Kirby led a team of seven doctors and two patients along a challenging route through the Himalayas. The trek was in memory of Richard Macaire, an avid supporter who sadly lost his battle with prostate cancer in 2010.

On 9 February 2012 Prostate Action (now merged with Prostate Cancer UK) was presented with a cheque for the amazing sum of £442,546, raised by everyone who took part. The presentation was held at the offices of Working Title Films in Marylebone, and was followed by the screening of a short film of the trek, made by Michael Ellard, which can be viewed above.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved in organising, running and taking part in such a fitting tribute to Richard Macaire, a man who helped champion the fight against prostate disease throughout his lifetime.
