We're teaming up with the world's biggest classic motor racing festival to get our message not to ignore prostate cancer to more than a hundred-thousand car-loving men and their families over the next three years.
Prostate Cancer UK has been appointed the Silverstone Classic's Official Charity Partner for the next three years. The world’s biggest classic motor racing festival at the Formula 1 race track offers "the perfect platform" to reach more than 100,000 visitors each year with our message not to ignore prostate cancer.
As well as providing lots of fundraising opportunities for us and a stall at the festival, the Classic will promote the work we do in their official programme and via their website and social media.
This partnership offers the perfect platform to reach large numbers of car-loving dads, lads and their families
"We are delighted to partner with Prostate Cancer UK," said Nick Wigley, CEO of the event's organiser, Goose Live Events. "The charity already has close contacts with many of the car clubs involved in the Classic and, more significantly, our visitor profile is very relevant to the vital work the charity undertakes."
Our Awareness Programme Manager, Nick O’Donohue, agreed, saying: "This partnership offers the perfect platform to reach large numbers of car-loving dads, lads and their families, whether they are revving up in the race paddocks or enjoying the packed infield displays and entertainment zones."
This year's festival takes place over the weekend of 29-31 July, with 10,000 privately-owned classic cars on display and the Boomtown Rats headlining the music stage. Full details and tickets are available on the Silverstone Classic website.
